Congratulations on your engagement!

As one of the most historic and most beautiful churches in Sydney, Christ Church St Laurence would be delighted to welcome you and your partner, together with your families, friends and loved ones for your special day.

Why have your Wedding here?

Christ Church St Laurence is a 180 year old sandstone church that has since its inception welcomed parishioners from all walks of life. This inclusivity has allowed the church to be richly vibrant whilst maintaining traditional and dignified services. The beautifully maintained historical church building with stunning altar provides a picturesque backdrop for your ceremony and photographs. Situated between Railway Square and Central Station most reception venues are easily within reach for you and your guests.

The Space

The church has seating for up to 350 of your friends and family. If your wedding is a much smaller affair there is the chapel which has flexible seating for up to 28 people.

The Wedding Service

Your wedding service can be as simple as a beautiful stand-alone ceremony conducted only in the presence of witnesses, or as magnificent as a full Nuptial Mass complete with choir and full Anglican rites. A priest would be delighted to meet with you and discuss your options.

What will our wedding cost?

The cost of your wedding will be largely determined by the nature of the ceremony. There is a basic fee to the Parish of $2000, which includes:

  • Clergy fees
  • A professional organist
  • Altar servers (if desired)
  • Flowers in the church

Depending upon the nature of the ceremony, additional costs may be negotiated for a choir or musical soloists, bellringers, or any further requirements.

Other Details

It is a requirement of the Anglican Church that at least one of the couple must be a baptised Christian, though not necessarily Anglican.
